Guidance to
Chairs and Co-Chairs
for EMG Sessions
at the AIChE Meetings
- Goal: To provided informative and EMG relevant papers, presented by effective speakers. To accomplish this goal, the following is guidance provided to the EMG Session Chairs and Co-Chairs.
1) The guidance provided by AIChE is the minimum that shall be adhere to by all session chairs, co-chairs, papers and presenters. (http://www.aiche.org/Conferences/Resources/index.aspx)
2) The session chairs and co-chairs may add additional requirements of the papers and speakers in keeping with the goals of the EMG.
3) Any additional requirements must be announced by the chair and co-chair to all potential authors and speakers no later than six months prior to the session. The earlier the better. All requirements will also be included with the request for papers. It is the responsibility of the chair and co-chair to evaluate papers and implement the requirements.
4) Recommended requirement may include but not limited to papers for publication in journals, papers to be published via the Internet, invited papers on selected topics relevant to EMG and the session, state of the research and technology, tutorials on an EMG topic, state of the industry, summary of programs, industry needs.
5) Requirements for each of these should be developed by the session chair and co-chair.
6) It is recommended that papers on specific topics be invited by the session chair and co-chair.
7) All speakers at the sessions will be evaluated for the “EMG Best Presentation Award”
8) Speakers should be members of the EMG and PTF.
9) For the 2007 AIChE EMG Annual Session in November, it is recommended that each session establish any additional requirements in concert with the other EMG sessions and EMG offices. Also it is recommended that each session include invited papers on any or all of the following: the state of the research and technology, tutorials on an EMG topic, papers suitable for publication in journals.
